A poor shooting performance from Fermanagh and the loss of Barry Owens early in the second half to a suspected knee injury conspired to hand the 2008 Ulster title to Armagh in what was a lacklustre affair played out at St. Tiernachs Park, Clones.

Fermanagh must now pick themselves up going through to next Sunday's clash with Kildare. Fermanagh go in as favourites as one of 4 Ulster sides contesting the qualifiers and a strong performance should see us through to the All Ireland Qrtr Finals.

Fear Manach Abu!

"Everybody said that Armagh always won Ulster finals, but they didn’t win last Sunday; and it was said that Fermanagh could not beat Down or Derry but we’ve beaten them both this year. We’ll be going to Clones on Sunday to win!”

Malachy O'Rourke speaks to the impartial and makes his intentions clear for the replay on Sunday 27th. Fear Manach abu!

Glentoran manager Alan McDonald has given Shane McCabe permission to play for Fermanagh in Sunday's Ulster GAA football final replay against Armagh.

The draw against Armagh meant one more match for McCabe, four days before the Glens play a Uefa Cup game in Latvia.

"I fully understand the situation," said Glentoran manager Alan McDonald.

McCabe started last Sunday's match at Clones after being called up as a late replacement for Liam McBarron.

Malachy O'Rourke has heaped praise on the Fermanagh team who battled back against an 8 point deficit to dominate the second half of the 2008 Ulster Final.

"We're disappointed as we came here to win the game," he said. "But I'm delighted with the character of the boys - a lot of people would have written us off.

"I knew we wouldn't go down without a tremendous fight and I'm proud of the players. But for missing so many chances we would have won the match."
